Liver disease is a disease that cannot be underestimated. Because, the liver has an important role in digesting food and protecting the body from toxic substances. There are various types of liver disease or also known as liver disease. Some of them are mandatory to watch out for because they can cause serious health problems.

Recognizing Different Types of Liver Diseases

Here are some types of liver disease that need to be aware of:
  • Hepatitis

  • Hepatitis is a disease that causes inflammation of the liver. This disease is generally caused by a viral infection, but can also be caused due to consumption of certain drugs, alcoholic beverages, or due to suffering from autoimmune diseases. Symptoms of hepatitis depend on the cause and type of hepatitis suffered. However, hepatitis symptoms generally include loss of appetite, diarrhea, vomiting and nausea, yellowing of the skin and eyes, and dark urine. This disease can affect the entire metabolic system of the body, so it is important to immediately see a doctor if you experience symptoms of hepatitis. The doctor will conduct a comprehensive health examination and advise you to do a blood test, liver function test, liver biopsy, or ultrasound of the stomach, to find out the type of hepatitis suffered. Handling of hepatitis that is given depends on the type of hepatitis suffered.
  • Cirrhosis

  • Cirrhosis is a liver disease caused by the formation of scar tissue in the liver, due to liver damage in the long run. At the beginning of this disease, you may not feel any symptoms. Usually the symptoms of cirrhosis appear after the liver damage has gotten worse. Symptoms include fatigue or weakness, nausea, loss of appetite, to loss of sex drive. If this condition is not treated immediately, cirrhosis can worsen. Symptoms that appear are also getting worse, including vomiting blood, itchy skin, dark stools, bruised body, swelling in the legs and stomach (edema), to experience jaundice. To prevent cirrhosis, it is important to adopt a healthy lifestyle, such as eating healthy foods, stopping consuming alcohol, avoiding consuming fatty foods, maintaining a good weight, and avoiding risky sexual relations.
  • Heart abscess

  • The appearance of small holes containing pus is a sign of liver abscess. The reason could be due to bacterial infections, it could also be due to parasitic infections. In developed countries, liver abscesses caused by bacterial infections are the most common liver abscesses or liver abscesses. This is known as a pyogenic liver abscess. This type of liver abscess in addition to causing inflammation or swelling of the liver, can also cause pain and swelling in the stomach. Symptoms include upper right abdominal pain, chills, vomiting, fever, sudden weight loss, dark urine, diarrhea, and grayish stool. Apart from pyogenic liver abscesses, there are also amoebic liver abscesses. This abscess is caused by a parasitic infection. Symptoms of this disease include lower right chest pain, upper right abdominal pain, and dark urine and gray stool. Other symptoms that can also appear are fever, chills, night sweats, loss of appetite, nausea, vomiting, excessive fatigue, yellowing of the skin, and sudden weight loss.
Liver disease can indeed endanger health. To prevent this, stop consuming alcoholic beverages, engage in safe sexual relations, avoid the use of syringes carelessly, consume drugs wisely, and maintain ideal body weight.
